Hello lovely Letters from Watson readers!
I thought I’d officially announce that after finishing reading through the short stories in 2023, Letters from Watson will be moving on to reading the four Sherlock Holmes novels, beginning with A Study in Scarlet in January!
We'll be following with The Sign of Four in April, The Hound of the Baskervilles in July, and The Valley of Fear in October, and a few little extra-canonical treats along the way…
If you’re interested in other literary substacks beginning next year, you can have a look at LfW’s recommendations. In particular, Letters from Bunny will be reading the Raffles stories by Conan Doyle’s brother in law EW Hornung featuring Holmes and Watson’s criminal counterparts Raffles and Bunny from the Ides of March (March 15th) and Letters Regarding Jeeves will be reading the uproarously funny public domain stories featuring chap about town Bertie Wooster and his bulging-brained valet Jeeves by PG Wodehouse, starting February 14th.
Thank you as always for all of your engagement and support!
The Secretary
PS Since so many people asked, here is a picture of the secretarial cat:
